If you're looking for budget friendly vacation plans for the summer, consider camping in Catalonia! There are plenty of campsites near Barcelona, usually accessible by public transportation, that offer plots for the more rugged camper, and bungalows or mobile homes for those who are looking for a more comfortable experience. Many are located on the beach, nearby outdoor activities, and have swimming pools onsite. Read on to discover some of the campsites closest to the Barcelona city center.
Camping Tres Estrellas
Camping Tres Estrellas is situated in Gavá, 12km from Barcelona and on the way to Castelldefels. Many buses run from Barcelona to Castelldefels, and pass through Gavá. You can catch the L94 and L95 from Plaça de Catalunya to the Gavá bus station which is 300 meters from the campsite.
The campsite has direct access to l’Estany beach, a natural, protected beach that is integrated into the protected areas of the Delta del Llobregat. You can rent all the necessary equipment you may need to enjoy beach sports – kayaks, surf and windsurf boards, stand-up paddle, bodyboards and, sign up for group or individual classes. Other amenities include a supermarket, swimming pools, two restaurants, a bar, barbecue area, padel courts, ping pong tables and mini golf.

Camping Barcelona
Camping Barcelona, north of Barcelona near Mataró, is an impressive campsite with many facilities. Camping Barcelona operates a daily bus to and from Plaça Catalunya to the campsite. Travel time takes about 30-60 minutes. There is also a train that operates from Mataró to Barcelona city that runs every 10 minutes during the day. The campsite offers a free shuttle bus to and from the Campsite to Mataró train station.
The campsite itself provides a swimming pool, supermarket, restaurant and an internet café, as well as Wi-Fi in all of their bungalows and camping spaces. The campsite also has a beach club at the Mataró beach along with a diving club at the port of Mataró and offers free transport to Mataró Beach every 15 to 30 minutes.

Camping Kanguro
Camping Kanguro is located in the Maresme region. Between the two towns, Canet de Mar and Sant Pol de Mar, 40km from Barcelona. You can get to Camping Kanguro by short-distance train or by bus from the center of Barcelona, both in just over one hour.
The campsite offers beautiful views of the Mediterranean Sea from all sites and is located 60 m from the beach, with direct access. You can bring your own tent, rent a chalet for bigger groups, or a bungalow for a cozy stay for up to four people. The campsite is in surrounded by the Montnegre mountains and is full of walking and biking paths. Amenities include barbecue areas, a swimming pool, a gym, ping pong and putt putt golf, a restaurant, a bar, and WiFi.
