Afternoon Immersive Spanish 20h Long-term Course Overview

Our Afternoon Immersive Program offers the same balanced approach to Spanish learning as our midday Immersive course, but with a later schedule and a fixed academic calendar for students committed to a full-year stay in Spain.

In this program, you'll combine:

  • General Spanish Classes: Monday to Friday, 17:30 – 19:30

  • Spanish Reinforcement Workshops: Monday to Friday, 15:30 – 17:30

In total, you’ll study 10 hours of core Spanish lessons + 10 hours of workshops per week. During the first 12 weeks (A1 to A2 levels), workshops cover a variety of rotating topics such as pronunciation and speaking fluency, everyday vocabulary and life skills in Spain, listening comprehension through media and real-world materials and practical grammar in context. You can attend these workshops based on your interests and language needs. From B1 onward, workshops shift to Conversation and Culture classes for more in-depth speaking practice and cultural immersion.

This program meets the requirements for a student visa in Spain. Key features include:

  • Only available as a 1 year (52-week) program

  • Holiday weeks are set by the school and take place in August and December.

Turn theory into practice with immersive activities and skill-building workshops

Lauren Chapman Speakeasy, March 2021

The amount I've progressed is tremendous. One of the main reasons I've advanced so far in my ability to speak, listen and write is due to the phenomenal teachers at this school. I had 4 different teachers with their own unique styles. I can say that every single one was amazing and pushed me to get to the point where I am now. I can now confidently say I speak Spanish and navigate myself through Spain without so much fear of having to communicate. I have met many students from other language schools who switched to Speakeasy and all of them have told me this school is the best Spanish learning school they've gone to due to the amazing professors.

Frequently asked questions

  • Yes. All our teachers are native Spanish speakers from Spain. They all have a university degree, special training in ELE (Español como Lengua Extranjera) and experience teaching Spanish to foreigners.

  • Yes! We have a range of ages at Speakeasy BCN so you will never feel out of place, whether you’ve just finished school or have decades of work experience. The average age of a student at Speakeasy BCN is 28.

  • Yes, you can. Booking a double room allows you to share your room with someone else. If you want to stay in a double room you'll need to book together with the friend/family member you will be sharing with. Each of you will have you’re your own single bed. You are responsible to find your roommate, we do not provide the service to match students together.

  • Yes, you can apply for a Spain student visa after arriving in Spain. However you must submit your application when you have at least 30 days of legal residence remaining (e.g. on your tourist visa or short-stay Schengen visa). You can see a list of countries which need the Schengen visa before visiting Spain below.

  • Yes, you can bring your family with you on a Spain student visa.

The family members who may accompany you include:

    • Your spouse or unmarried partner

    • Children who are minors or who have a disability

In most cases, the student needs to get the student visa first and then the spouse can apply to accompany the student. But please note – each consulate has its own application requirements. We recommend you contact your nearest Spanish embassy or consulate for more information.
