Our Long-term Spanish courses are a great option if you want to learn Spanish and enjoy living in Barcelona for a longer period of time. These courses meet the requirements to apply for a student visa in Spain.
In our Long-term Immersive Spanish program, you’ll study 10 hours of general Spanish each week and complement these with 10 hours of Spanish cultural activities and workshops. Our Spanish immersion workshops take a more hands-on approach including interactive games, Spanish tutoring to review what you’ve learned in class, pronunciation, workshops about current events, popular culture, history and more! Each week you’ll have a variety of topics to choose from.
General Spanish classes are held 2 hours each day, Monday through Friday, in the afternoon either from 13.30h – 15.30h or 17.30h – 19.30h. Complimentary Spanish Immersion workshops are held from 15.30h – 17.30h each day. In your general Spanish classes, you will cover all aspects of Spanish language learning each day: speaking, reading, writing, and listening. Then, you’ll have the opportunity to apply what you’ve learned beyond the books and classroom.
From A1 to A2.1 levels your general Spanish course will be supplemented with the Spanish workshops described above (12 weeks), once you reach the A2.2 level, your general Spanish course will be supplemented with Conversation and Business classes.
This program is intended for those who would like to learn the practicalities of Spanish language learning while immersing themselves in all aspects of the Spanish language and culture. You’ll have the opportunity to absorb the key language skills that will make a difference to your ability to communicate in Spanish with ease.

I have only wonderful things to say about my experience at Speakeasy! From day one, the administration team answered all my questions and made me feel at ease. The school location is fantastic, walking distance to many major attractions. The facilities at the school are comfortable and cozy. The activities coordinator is lovely and organized some great weekend day trips. But most importantly, my teachers were fantastic. I enjoyed the diversity of their teaching methods, their ability to adapt to everyone’s learning speed and simply, the fun we had in each class. I genuinely learned more Spanish than I expected to!! I will recommend this school to anyone!
- Can I also share a room with another person (friend/family) in the host family's house?
Yes, you can. Booking a double room allows you to share your room with someone else. If you want to stay in a double room you’ll need to book together with the friend/family member you will be sharing with. Each of you will have you’re your own single bed. You are responsible to find your roommate, we do not provide the service to match students together.
- Can I do a trial class?
We do not offer trial classes due to class planning and organization. Except for in the Evening Course (4 weeks minimum enrollment) you can enrol in one week of class to see if it is the right fit for you and then prolong your booking if you choose to do so. If the level or type of course doesn’t suit you, we are always happy to switch you to a higher or lower level or different timetable.
- Do you offer help to students who want to obtain a student visa?
Yes, we provide the necessary documents you will need from Speakeasy to apply for your student visa in Spain. Since additional documents required for application depend on the country you´re coming from we suggest getting in touch with the embassy in the city you will be applying in.
