A Barcelona language school you can trust

Why take a long-term Spanish course in Barcelona with Speakeasy BCN?

Speakeasy BCN is focused on creating the perfect environment for you to master Spanish.

Our Spanish classes are small (maximum 8-13 students) so you never feel left behind. We’re also the only school to introduce  ‘mini levels’ between each stage of the CEFR framework, and we assess your Spanish and place you among students of the same ability.

Each long-term Spanish course has a ‘rolling admissions’ policy so you can start learning from the week you arrive.

We believe in the philosophy of learning Spanish through immersion. This is why our school is in the heart of Barcelona, on the edge of the world-famous Gothic Quarter. We’re the only Spanish language school in Barcelona with two dedicated activity coordinators to help you explore the city every week and practice what you’re studying.

  • Weekly activities

Every week, Speakeasy BCN prepares group activities that all students can attend. You’ll get to meet new people and explore Barcelona with activities like beach days, roof-top drinks, museum tours, Gaudí visits, wine tasting, cooking classes, Barcelona FC matches, yoga in the park, paddle-boarding  and weekend daytrips to stunning areas outside of Barcelona.

  • Travel opportunities

If you’re a non-EU student at Speakeasy BCN, we understand you may wish to take advantage of your Schengen Visa to explore Europe. That’s why we allow designated weeks off for you travel to nearby countries like Portugal, France, Italy, Switzerland and more.

  • Accommodation

Once you’re booked in for a Spanish course, our student advisors will help you get a room in a student residence or find a shared apartment, a family homestay or a private apartment. Each option comes with a range of prices to suit your budget.

  • Visa services

Non-EU international students are eligible for a Spanish student visa just by applying for one of our long-term Spanish courses at Speakeasy BCN. Our student advisors will help you secure your visa and fulfil all the requirements.

  • Well-located school

Speakeasy BCN is one of the only Spanish language schools located right on the edge of Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter. You’ll be within minutes of Barcelona’s most-photographed sites and the world-famous La Rambla boulevard. Every walk to and from school will be an adventure!

Phil Opaola
Phil Opaola Speakeasy, February 2022

We started learning practical Spanish from day one and by the end of the first week I was already able to have basic conversations with cashiers, friends, and people I met while out and about. There’s no better motivation than being able to use the words and phrases you learn in class to immediately connect with people. The quality of learning also stems from the quality of teaching, and I can’t speak highly enough of my professor at the school. In addition to a varied pedagogical approach (which keeps the whole class engaged for 4 hours at a time) and an endless amount of enthusiasm for the subject, she’s also a great source of knowledge about Spanish culture. She’s constantly recommending songs, books, food, festivals and other ways to engage with the language and culture outside of class. My classmates also bring a diverse range of backgrounds to the classroom. It’s great learning about Camino de Santiago with an architect in class who can talk about the history of Romanesque architecture in Spain, or learning about linguistic similarities between Spanish and Swedish, Dutch or German from students from those countries.
