Barcelona is a rich, diverse city with something to discover around every corner. It can be easy when dating to fall into a routine that involves just dinner and drinks. Here are some alternative date ideas to stimulate new and explorative experiences.

The Bunkers at sunset

What’s more romantic than a sweeping view of Barcelona’s beautiful cityscape? Escaping the busy streets and sitting high above the chaos is a different kind of experience. Bring some beers or wine along to reward yourself for the short hike up and say adios to the setting sun together.

Rent boats at the pond in Parc Ciutadella

In the middle of Parc de la Ciutadella, there is a small pond where you can rent rowboats for a short while. Surrounding yourself with nature and quacking ducks makes for a cute and romantic date.

Bosc Urbà at Parc del Forum

Looking for something completely out of the ordinary? The Urban Jungle in the Diagonal Mar area will test your body and mind. It’s an “urban adventure park” with zip lines, tightropes, bridges and platforms. You can choose a course depending on how much you want to be challenged. This makes for a fun date because you’ll challenge your body while having fun at the same time!

Take a walk around Montjuic

Montjuic is easily accessible and holds numerous gardens and parks. It’s another perfect place to take a date to wander around and get to know each other. Once you’ve finished with your walk, you can check out the Magic Fountain show that usually runs from Thursday to Saturday in the evenings during the summer months.

Hotel Barcelo Raval

Right off the Rambla de Raval is the strange, circular-shaped Hotel Barcelo Raval. Go up the elevator to the roof and you’ll set foot onto the 360° Bar that boats a terrace that has a full, stunning view of Barcelona. Stay for a drink and enjoy the sights!

Wednesday Night Live Jam session at Marula

Marula Cafe is a hidden gem in the Gothic Quarter. Every Wednesday night, musicians from around the city – sometimes visitors – will line up with their instruments to have the chance to join the jam session. Everything is improvised and each week is different as the backgrounds and styles of every musician differ. It’s a great night to feel the music and experience a different side of Barcelona.

The Parc de Atracciones at Tibidabo

Imagine how lucky we are in Barcelona to have our own mini amusement park at the top of the tallest peak in the city! Feel like a kid again – hop on the swing ride, merry-go-round, get on the Ferris wheel and take in the stunning views. It’s the perfect place to spend a day or evening with a date.
