Pintxos - the Basque version of tapas. Carrer Blai in Poble Sec is a pedestrian street lined with bars serving tasty pintxos and beer. The idea is to hop from place to place, sampling different pintxos as you go.

Join us this Thursday to mingle with your Speakeasy classmates and enjoy authentic Basque cuisine together.

This Friday, we will attend an end-of-the-week music event at Bridge 48 Studios, a premier music hub in Barcelona. This venue not only trains up-and-coming DJs, but also attracts some of the most talented DJs from all over Europe!

Join us to listen to the DJs' sets, mingle with your Speakeasy classmates over a few drinks, and maybe even have some fun experimenting with the decks!

Join us as we visit one of the most iconic places in Barcelona - the Picasso Museum. It holds one of the most extensive collections of artworks by the 20th-century Spanish artist Pablo Picasso.

The museum is located in five adjoining medieval palaces in Barcelona's La Ribera neighborhood, a prestigious location of merchants and nobility from wealthy merchants in the Gothic to Baroque periods.

Keen to explore more of Catalonia? On Saturday 6th of May, we will explore the town of Peratallada, located in the province of Girona, halfway between Barcelona and the French border. With extraordinary appeal and beauty, it preserves its ancient appearance, with narrow streets and alleyways.
After that, we will move to the town of Pals, located in the Baix Empordà region, it's a small town famous for its beautiful cobbled streets and Gothic buildings, ideal for a scenic stroll with your classmates!

Join us for a picnic in the park! We’ll meet in one of the most beautiful parks in Barcelona, Parc de la Ciutadella.
Meet and mingle with your classmates, practice your Spanish outside the classroom and enjoy the sun, music, drinks, and games!

Feel free to bring snacks and drinks!

On Thursday, we’ll visit one of the most peculiar cafés in the city, inhabited by fairies and gnomes and surrounded by enormous trees.
The café is located in the heart of the Gothic Quarter, but you will find yourself in a fantasy world, like something out of a movie.
Come along to try this unique experience and enjoy some drinks with your classmates!

This Wednesday, we will visit one of Barcelona's lesser-known speakeasy music bars to enjoy a concert by Bradley Lauretti, a talented songwriter originally from Brooklyn, NY, who has spent the past 10 years performing all over the world. He has performed at Retrospectrum: Bob Dylan at the Frost Art Museum, Live at Heart (Sweden), End of the Road (UK), and won the Artsville Songwriting Contest. Plus, he is a fellow Speakeasy student! Join us for the concert, the speakeasy bar ambiance, and some delicious cocktails.

On Saturday, we’ll be leaving Barcelona to visit two charming Catalan medieval towns - Siurana y Montblanc, located in the south of the region. First, we will stop by a small village in the Priorat province, Siurana, to visit a magical enclave to revel in the village's beauty and learn about the legends that have been set there. After that, we will drive deep into the country to visit Montblanc. This fascinating village used to be one of the most significant medieval towns, and on this weekend they will host their annual medieval market.

This Wednesday, we’ll be trying out a restaurant specializing in one of the most famous Spanish foods: Croquetas!
There will be a wide variety of different flavors and fillings, along with other delicious tapas and drinks.
Come along to enjoy a nice dinner in one of the best croquetas places in the city and meet other Speakeasy students!

On Thursday, we will take part in a creative masterclass where you’ll get to take home your own painting! A teacher will guide you step by step so that you learn to apply all the necessary techniques to your work of art. The activity is designed for everyone, so even if you don't have any experience, the result is sure to surprise you! And of course, we will have some wine and other drinks, chat and enjoy our time together!

Let’s go on a day trip! On Friday 7th April, we will visit two charming villages in the Catalan Pyrenees: Camprodon, historically known for the Benedictine Monastery of San Pedro, built in the 10th century, is now famous for being a favorite vacation spot for the upper class.
And just 30 minutes away, we find Setcases (which means Seven Houses in Catalan), where we’ll find the fascinating cobbled streets, old bridges and churches from the 12th century.

This Thursday, we will visit one of the best examples of modern architecture in Barcelona - the pavilion, designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, director of BAUHAUS school. This iconic building was designed as the German Pavilion for the Barcelona International Exhibition, held in Montjuïc in 1929, and still captures the interest of architecture lovers from around the globe.

This Thursday we’ll visit the science museum of Cosmocaixa, an incredible space where you will learn more about the universe, fossils, math, animals and much more!
During your visit, you will get to experience a National Geographic exhibition of a planetarium and the Amazon rainforest!

This Wednesday, we will get lost in one of Barcelona’s most noteworthy gardens, the Gardens of Mossèn Costa i Llobera in Montjuïc. Montjuïc cacti park is one of Europe's biggest gardens specializing in cacti and succulent plants. With more species than you can count and cacti in all shapes and sizes, it is the perfect place to escape the busy city life. Join us to explore this hidden gem in Barcelona and mingle with your Speakeasy friends.

Next Saturday, the 25th of March, we'll be going on a day trip to visit one of the most famous cities in the south of France - Carcassone.
Situated on a hilltop in the Languedoc area of southern France, it is famous for its medieval citadel, La Cité, with several watchtowers and fortifications. Join us to explore the iconic 12th-century Châteay Comtal and Roman walls.

Embark on a journey to discover all the secrets of the Gothic Quarter!

On the 2-hour walking tour, we will explore the historic city center. As well as delving into the rich history and culture of Barcelona with an expert tour guide by your side.

We will take part in a creative workshop where you will paint your own ceramic piece!

You will get to choose a mug, plate or bowl that you can paint in any style. A teacher will help you with the techniques and turn your idea into reality. It’s a fantastic opportunity to let your artistic side out.

This Wednesday, we will go to one of Barcelona's biggest and best breweries - Fàbrica Moritz to sample their beers and tapas. Including the "first" beer in Barcelona, it’s a must-try! Fun fact: This brewery used to be closed to the public, however, they opened their doors for beer lovers in 2011. Join us to try this classic Barcelona beer and mingle with your Speakeasy classmates!

At the beginning of March, one of the most beautiful spectacles in the region takes place in Aitona, the flowering of the trees. Aitona attracts nearly 20,000 visitors annually to witness the flowers in bloom. It’s a paradise for flower, nature, and photography lovers. During the visit to Aitona, you will have two options:

Option 1 (basic package) – Free time to explore the sea of pink of the tree blossoms on foot.

Option 2 (complete package) – A guided tour of almost three hours that will take us into private farms to see the flowering process up close. Afterwards, we’ll visit Lleida, one of the oldest cities in Catalonia and the capital of the Segriá region.

Come with us and explore the most important collection of Catalan art! This Thursday, we will visit MNAC museum, housed in the Palau Nacional, a Neo-Baroque palace where you can find more than 260,000 works of art. We will dive into the history of local art, from the Romanesque frescoes of Pyrenees' churches to neoclassicism and Catalan Art Nouveau.

This Thursday, we are going to a flamenco show. Established in 1963, Los Tarantos Flamenco is the oldest tablao in Barcelona. Its stage has welcomed some of the most important figures of the last century, making it one of the most influential tablaos in the whole country.

Come along and immersive yourself in this traditional Spanish dance!

We are going on a day trip to visit two unique locations in Catalunya on Saturday, the 25th. Firstly, we will explore charming Girona, a town with more than two thousand years of history. After lunch, we will drive to the most beautiful medieval town in the region - Besalú. We will see a well-preserved spectacular Romanesque bridge, the church of Sant Pere and the house of Cornellà, and its Jewish quarter.

Dive into Barcelona’s past with us at the Archivo Fotografico de Barcelona in El Born. It boasts over 3 million photographs of the city from 1844 to the present day, including the Olympics in 1992 to the reconstruction of the city that we see today.

Spanish is not only the language of Spain, it's also the mother tongue of a lot of Latin American countries! This Wednesday, we'll meet for dinner at a Mexican restaurant. We will enjoy typical Mexican cuisine, like spicy tacos and nachos, mescal and aqua de Jamaica. Join us to practice your Spanish outside the classroom!
